Our story
Honey Bee Bakery specializes in producing premium quality baked goods for Madison area markets. We enjoy providing delicious products and friendly service to our customers.
We are committed to using local and organic ingredients. Farm fresh produce such as local eggs, Wisconsin butter, cream, and fruit are the foundation of our lovely pastries and cakes. Everything is made by hand with artisan care and detail.
Honey Bee Bakery is a small scale producer. Our success is due to our diligence and to the many friends and family that have given their support to this dream venture.
Local food system advocacy
Mary White, Honey Bee Bakery’s pastry chef, grew up on a farm in west central Wisconsin. She began vending at the farmers’ markets in 2005. Mary values being an active part of the farmers’ market community.
Supporting local producers and food artisans will guarantee that small family farms remain viable and fresh local food will always be available. It’s important for all of us to do our part.
With these principles in mind, Mary has served on the board of the Westside Community Market for over 10 years. In 2016, Mary received the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Buy Local Grant to facilitate the Eastside Farmers Market’s move to McPike Park.
In 2020, Mary partnered with other farmers’ market vendors to form Madison Farmers Unite. Madison Farmers Unite was awarded the We’re All Innovating Grant for providing a way for local producers to sell their goods during the pandemic.
Mary is proud to have invested in her community and continues to build relationships that sustain us.
